Tomorrow , Duchess of Cambridge He’s 40, and in celebration of his historic birthday, Kensington Palace has released a series of new photos of Kate. In one photo taken by photographer Paolo Roversi at Kew Gardens in November 2021, the Duchess wears a bold red dress with an oversized one sleeve. She accessorized the look with a pair of dangling earrings (above).
The other two images (below) were released in black and white. In one, Kate wears a light, off-the-shoulder gown with bows, and in the other, she appears to be wearing a one-shoulder ruffled shirt or dress.
These photos will eventually be added to the permanent collection in the National Portrait Gallery, but before the exhibition Reopening in 2023, the images will be part of back homeWhich Kensington Palace described as «A national initiative that sees sending photos of known individuals to sites with which they are closely associated.»
In 2022, portraits of Kate will be shown in Berkshire, St Andrews and Anglesey, three locations described as having «particular meaning to Her Royal Highness». More details regarding when and where the images will be shown will be announced «in due course».
Kate serves as patron of the National Portrait Gallery, and in recent years, has collaborated with the organization Proved, a photographic project documenting the epidemic, which has since become a book.
“We have all been amazed by some of the amazing images we have seen that have given us insight into the experiences and stories of people across the country. Some very sad images show the human tragedy of this pandemic and others are heartening images that show people coming together,” Kate said in a statement about Hold Still last year.
