A murder investigation has begun after a woman died in a car fire in Derry.
The fire occurred outside a house in Quarry Road in Knoklogrim in the early hours of Tuesday.
The woman was in her fifties.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said a 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He said, «At approximately 5:45 am this morning, the police received a report that a car had caught fire outside a house on the road.»

“Police and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and a woman in her 50s who was in the car was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the hospital staff, she died of her injuries and died in the hospital this evening.
“A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was also taken to hospital for treatment for burn injuries.
