Two people have launched personal injury lawsuits against operators of a Co Antrim entertainment game after the collapse of one of its rides last month.
The Star Flyer amusement ride at the Planet Fun in Carrickfergus collapsed on July 24, injuring six people.
Belfast-based Phoenix Law said it has been instructed to sue Planet Fun for personal injury damages to its customers due to «negligence of theme park operators in maintaining and maintaining their equipment».
A representative of the claimants said that they suffered serious physical and psychological injuries as a result of the accident.
Fun Planet said earlier That a preliminary investigation by the Health and Safety Executive has cleared the way for reopening and that his equipment has no mechanical defects.
The operators said the accident was caused by «misuse of equipment by the behavior of several teenagers at the attraction» but did not explain how the accident happened.
The plaintiffs say they disagree with Planet Fun’s statement and have written to the Department of Health and Safety requesting an immediate investigation to determine the «actual cause» of the accident.
“This has been a truly traumatic experience for our customers, other users of the flight, and anyone who was standing nearby witnessing what happened,” said Glenn Armstrong of Phoenix Law.

“It is not surprising that as a result our clients have suffered serious physical and psychological injuries.
«The self-serving, opportunistic and incorrect statements made by Planet Fun after the accident are not helpful, and only serve to blame the victims of their negligence.»
