The Irish Minister of Health has announced that the Covid-19 vaccine registration portal in Ireland will open tomorrow for older adolescents aged 16-17.
Stephen Donnelly said those under 18 can sign up for an mRNA vaccine from Pfizer or Moderna.
«It is important that we continue to vaccinate as many of our residents as possible as soon as vaccines are available and we follow the safety guidelines of our experts,» he said in a tweet on Twitter.

Anyone over the age of 18 can currently register for a vaccine, and the government hopes the majority of young people will be fully vaccinated before the start of the new school year.

With more restrictions lifted on Monday amid a continuing rise in cases, the government is under pressure to vaccinate as many teens as possible before pupils return to classrooms.
For more 1345 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the republic on Monday, with 87 per cent for those under 45.
Earlier, Taoiseach Micheál Martin made a direct call Young people to get vaccinated with higher number of cases associated with the delta variant.
More than 5.5 million doses of Covid-19 have been administered across Ireland. About 70 percent of the population is now fully immunized, and nearly 80 percent have received the first two-dose dose.
